When I was president of the National Association of Black Journalists in 2014, Carol stepped in at the last minute to run our national convention in Boston. Along with planning the conference attended by more than 2,000 people. She quickly took control of most of the major aspects of the convention including event space at the host hotel and the convention center, food and beverage, vendor relations, transportation, security, special events, hotel management, audio/visual and billing and budget review. Thanks to her leadership and attention to detail, the convention was a huge success.
